What is GDPR

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force on the 25th of May 2018. This regulation came about in order to further protect the fundamental right to privacy for citizens of the European Union (EU). It affects all entities that process personal data on EU citizens'. Whether or not you or your business is located in the EU is not important. If you share your customer's data with companies outside of the EU this affects you.

What does GDPR mean for you and your business

Transparency and communication with your customers are key elements of the GDPR. As part of the new regulation, you must let your customers know how you collect, store and use their data in a clear and transparent way. In addition to this, you must comply with your customers' requests to receive a copy of their data that is processed by your business.
